In Talordle, the objective is to guess a 5-letter word relevant to Taylor Swift, such as a song, style, or genre. With only 6 chances to guess the correct word, players must use their knowledge of Taylor and her music to make their guesses count. After each guess, the tiles will change color to indicate how close the guess was to the target word. Green means the letter is in the word and in the correct spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray means the letter is not in the word.

For added customization, Talordle offers several settings such as the unlimited mode, high contrast mode, and dark theme to cater to individual preferences. After completing a game, players can also view statistics such as win percentage, number of games played, current winning streak, and the distribution of their guesses to the target word.
