Pick a Player and Get on the Court
Basketball Bros is the kind of game you can open in your browser and start playing almost immediately. It has that old-school arcade feel, but the matches are online and much faster. You play 1-on-1 against another player, moving around the court, grabbing the ball, shooting threes, or going straight for a big dunk.
The game has more than 30 characters to choose from. Four are available from the start, while the others have to be unlocked by winning matches. The characters aren't all the same, either. Height, speed, defense, and strength can make a noticeable difference when you're playing.
Four Minutes, No Time to Waste
A match usually takes about four minutes and is split into four quarters. That sounds short, but things can get hectic pretty quickly. If you're behind on the scoreboard, there isn't much time to make up the difference.
Scoring works just like you'd expect. Shots from inside the three-point line are worth 2 points, including layups, dunks, and normal jump shots. Hit a shot from outside the arc, and you get 3 points.
Don't Expect Clean Basketball
Defense in Basketball Bros can be pretty rough. You can tackle your opponent and knock them down to stop a play, which can be especially useful when they're about to score. Timing matters, though, because a missed challenge can leave your side of the court wide open.
You can also customize your baller with different uniforms, shoes, pants, and socks. So once you've unlocked a few characters, you can put together a look that feels like your own.
It's simple, quick, and a little chaotic. That's basically what makes Basketball Bros fun.
